Francesc Güell

Extensive experience as executive and board member in international chemical and pharmaceutical companies.

I changed in the year 2001 and as an independent consultant associated with international groups, I have presented courses and given support to managers and companies in topics as innovation and performance improvement, strategy, project management, change management, processes improvement and operational excellence, knowledge and integrated management.

In 2010, I retired from the activities of administration. I currently write, design and present courses and workshops on the above topics and collaborate with companies and associations, but having other activities.

From June of 2015, elect councilman of the council of Castellcir, Barcelona. Spokesman for the independent group.

I collaborate with ‘Esade Alumni Solidario’ in projects of consultancy and support to entities of the third social sector.

Member of the board of a third social sector Foundation, open centre in the Raval of Barcelona.

I was associated with Cinergence since 2009 and Delos Partnership since 2005. Until then I collaborated with Oliver Wight EAME, developing its activities in Spain in training and improving management towards excellence.

Since 1996, I have served as Managing Director of Witco ODG Europe, Member of the Steering Committee of Witco GmbH, Member of the Global Business Team of Witco ODG (USA) and Managing Director of Witco Spain.

From Steinau, Hessen (Germany), I was responsible for Europe for the activities of Witco ODG and extended the project of operational excellence for the 4 European plants.

Until 2001, as managing director of Goldschmidt Spain we group the activities of two companies to form the new Degussa, today Evonik.

Previously, as CEO of Witco España, we expanded the capacity of the Granollers plant (Barcelona) and implemented distributed control systems in operations (DCS), a new management system (ERP) and defined the new strategy of the company integrating various business units.

Previously, I had worked as CEO and CEO of Rewo Química and later on as director of the chemical division of Schering España. In this period, we built the new plant for surfactants and chemical specialties in Granollers (Barcelona), inaugurated in 1987.

At Hispano Química Houghton I was responsible for the area of ​​surfactants and worked in export, consolidating an international business based on chemical specialties for metal, textile, tanning, surfactants, detergents and other industries.

I am a member of ACCID and the Commission on Intangibles. Founding partner of the Integral Management Forum. I was president of the Organizing Committee of the world congress Cesio 1996 in Barcelona and vice-president of the Spanish Association of Surfactants, (AEPSAT).

My formal education is in industrial chemical engineering and postgraduate in Esade in senior management of companies. I completed a master in knowledge management at ICT-UPC 2002.

I have participated in numerous programs, seminars and courses at ESADE, IESE, EADA, APD, and the MCE (Management Center Europe) in Brussels.
